So, How are you feeling this Holiday Season?
Right now I’m coming down off an anxiety rush. I took 2 days off to spend with my family while my amazing Mother-in-law is visiting, and both nights I woke with panic over work! … not that I could do ANYTHING about work at 2:30 am. *SIGH*
Even when I’m relaxing, I feel like my mind is spinning it’s wheels on overtime!
Please, tell me I’m not the only one???
Yet even with my mind doing crazy things, I’m still working each day to not only enjoy the season, but find reasons to be grateful and ways to bring joy into the world around me. For example, today is busy: full of appointments, most of which appeared today (unexpected). The upside: even though I’m caring for a client (technically not my job), he’s very sweet AND his wife is an amazing decorator! I’m sitting in this beautiful room with huge windows looking out on a very soggy, wet day.

In every situation, great or small, there is beauty and gratitude if we look for it. This morning I was aggravated at a last-minute cancellation by a caregiver scheduled to take this client. Now, I’m sitting in a beautiful room listening to the rain and working from my cellphone.
I had a totally different plan for my day… but if it had gone according to plan, I’d be running errands in the pouring rain instead of writing my Blog In this beautiful space.
I know this time of year can be stressful (is stressful) with all the additional commitments to family, community, and even work. The challenge is to pause and enjoy the view: Christmas trees, lights up every where, movies with happy endings, delicious food, mail that is NOT bills.
Carve out those moments to take a mental picture that remind us how truly blessed we are! Each commitment is a testament to the people and communities YOU bring something meaningful to because of your presence and commitment to them.
